The traditional brewery includes a show museum. "Stiegl's Braustube" offers fresh-baked bread specialities and fresh beer specialities.

3. City-tour with a traditional "Brauereikutsche"(coach)

Duration: ca. 40 - 50 min.

A traditional "Brauereikutsche", a coach with sturdy horses used to transport barrels of beer, will transport the guests back to the city and ride with them through the old city.

Description: The ride leads through the historic Kaiviertel, passes the newly renovated Castle Freisaal. Finally along an old alley through the open countryside to Castle Hellbrunn. The alley was used in former times by archbishop Markus Sittikus for travelling from his residence in the inner city to Castle Hellbrunn with the famous water games.

Wonderful tour to the 3 small lakes along the Salzach. Situated inmidst the recreational area is "Schloß Kleßheim", home to a casino in a baroque atmosphere.

 

Ride to Oberndorf and the "Silent-Night-Chapel"

 

Distance: ca. 20 km / 12 ml .

Route: Staatsbrücke - Müllner Steg - downstream the right side of the river- Treppelweg until Oberndorf

Description: The ride leads from the main bridge over the Müllner Steg to the right side of the river. The bridge head is a good spot for shooting some panorama photos of the cityline. The tour continues along the "Treppelweg" downstream the river. The "Treppelweg" was used in former times to trail cargo ships with horses from the Bavarian cities Passau and Burghausen to Salzburg. The trail leads through marshes along the river inhabitet by many species including beavers, wild pigs and rare birds.

Located in the small town of Oberndorf is the "Silent-Night"-Chapel and the connected museum. After the visit follows a "Einkehrschwung", a break with traditional local food and drinks in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
